Line outside , already ?

I can't believe it ... the early birds , Saturday only, night owls, blah blah blah , sales of the pre Holiday season have arrived !!

I need to go to Walmart today to pick up the essential home item, you know toilet paper, window cleaner, etc..... and there was a line outside the store for PSPs , TVs, and laptops. obviously I didnt buy any of those things because I am sitting at my computer in one piece without any scratches, bruises, and aches !! ( I will say that the line at my particular store today didnt look bad but its always those ones that push and shove )

I guess they want to get your money early this year ??!!

Too Big !

I did some shopping last week online and got some great deals. I didnt need anything but I found these really great prices and could just click away . I found 6 different tops-- A leopard cardigan, black ruffle blouse, white printed top with puff sleeves, navy top , a fuchsia wrap blouse, and a black version of the same wrap blouse.

I had a coupon..score... so i saved over $59.00 !

I got the package today and am like a little kid I was ripping open all those plastic covers and tossing them on my bed to get to my goods. I try on the black ruffle a little big but I put on the cardigan over it..it works but that is too big also maybe I could grab a belt and make it work. Yup that might work.

Next, The white print top... too big but I bought it for casual days so it works , I guess.
The navy top.. way too big !
the fuchsia and black wrap blouses... lets just say way toooo big !!!!

Now most people would love that clothes would be tooo big, but now what do I do? They dont have mediums in stock NOW !!! they did when I ordered but I thought I didnt want my boobs hanging out and I usually wear a large in the tops from this store otherwise the medium is too tight around the chest .

So now i have to return, luckily I can return to the mall so i will save on shipping ..but now I lose my coupon because they dont carry the tops in the store to exchange the size, and if i dont make the limit $$ of the coupon-- they prorate the discount.

Do you think I could buy something else in the store to equal the return and just exchange it or is the store going to keep the discount? It is a difference of over $59 I will be losing !!!!!

Worth the drive ?

Has anyone ever been to a Nordstrom Rack ? A new store opened today in Danvers and of course, I didnt make it today but I was thinking of driving up to Danvers this weekend. Maybe 40 mintues away . We ( Massachusetts) just got Nordstrom stores, i think, a year and half ago. So we always had to just dream and shop online hoping shoes would fit !!

Do you really get good deals? Help me make up my mind -- I am trying not to spend too much on myself before the Holidays but .... a girl always needs an extra pair or two or three pairs of new shoes !

American Hero

Part of the Transcript of President Elect Barack Obama's speech last night

OBAMA:This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for
generations. But one that's on my mind tonight's about a woman who cast her
ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to
make their voice heard in this election except for one thing: Ann Nixon Cooper
is 106 years old.

"She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no
cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for
two reasons — because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.
"And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her century in
America — the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times
we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that American
creed: Yes we can.
"At a time when women's voices were silenced and their
hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the
ballot. Yes we can.

"When there was despair in the dust bowl and
depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New
Deal, new jobs, a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can."

AUDIENCE: Yes we can.

OBAMA: When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the
world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy
was saved. Yes we can.

AUDIENCE: Yes we can.

OBAMA: She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in
Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people
that We Shall Overcome. Yes we can.

AUDIENCE: Yes we can.

OBAMA: A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in
Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination.
And this
year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote,
because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of
hours, she knows how America can change.
Yes we can.

AUDIENCE: Yes we can.

OBAMA: America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is
so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves — if our children should
live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long
as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?
This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment.

President Elect ...

BARACK OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still I Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard'
Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Really in this economy ?

I was out at the stores today doing a few returns and people were buying Christmas ornaments and such --really ??!! in TJmaxx ???

Dont most people either buy them at the end of the season on sale in sets or as an ornament for holiday parties as tie ons to the bottle of wine. I have never know anyone to actually buy individual ornament to hang on a tree in November? And no these were not the collectible type either. I had to ask her why she was buying a baket full of ornaments, you know why not just ask ??!!

her response... " I am moving into a new apartment and wanted to decorate for the holidays . I might have a holiday party ."

Yes, they were beautiful but....Seems a little crazy to buy ornaments at $9- $15 a piece just to decorate in this economy . Do you think so ? Wouldnt you just have a tree trimming party to decorate ? Maybe she doesnt like her friends taste in ornaments?
